It's been said too many times DO NOT SEND DEPOSITS. Even in most of the websites are advising the same, no deposits, no credit card info, this are scams. BTW STG scammers are now using the line LOCATION AFTER BOOKING, the question is why?, obviously they are going to ask for a deposit to tell you the location, total scam. Possible Robbery
I have never posted on here before, but I have been a customer of this "industry" for almost 10 years, and I have seen it all. Let me preface this by saying that I have been robbed at least 4 times that I can remember. This doesn't include scams such as paying upfront, then 10 minutes later the girl gets a text saying she needs to leave because there is a "family emergency".
I contacted a girl who had been on STG for a while, but recently stopped posting their ad. I am hesitant to give out her name because she has solid reviews on them, and I don't want to ruin her reputation in case I over reacted. Over the course of a few days we agreed on $200 for 1 HR, but $50 of that would include party supplies for both of us (Yes, I understand this is much more risky). As I was driving there she called me to ask how much supplies I wanted because she was with her dealer. This was the first red flag because I thought we had already agreed on that before I left. When I got off the exit, I gave her a call to let her know I was close, and to double check that she had gotten the party supplies. She said she would wait by the front of her door and would greet me when I pulled up, and she confirmed she had gotten the supplies.
The address was in area of row / town homes, and I noticed she wasn't waiting at the front door. I knock on the door, and I feel like there were people watching me. I wait for what feels like at least 45 seconds probably more before she pops out of the door next to the one I was knocking on. I've experienced the "screening method" before, but (1) it was by far the longest I had to wait before they gave the "real" address (2) why tell me your going to wait by front of door when your going to "screen" the client? Also, I was right about feeling "watched" because she had a security camera hooked up to a tablet sitting on her coffee table.
Once I'm inside she invites me to her room upstairs, and the first thing she says to me is give me the cash so she can go get the party supplies. I was expecting her to already have the party supplies. Alarm bells start going off inside my head and that voice in the back of my head is yelling for me to get out because I had asked her before I got there if she already had the party supplies, add that to the "screening process", and anyone that has been robbed before knows that eerie feeling that I am referring to. Like that voice in your head telling you to get out ASAP. So I said to her something like I got to go to my car to get something, and left her place as calmly as possible. As I was leaving I heard a second person in her townhouse, and right as I was getting into my car a small UHual truck pulled up and parked right behind my car.
Within a few minutes of leaving a get a few texts from her saying how pissed she is, and how she got left holding the supplies and didn't have the cash to pay for them. Not sure if there was miscommunication about the party supplies, or if I was about to get robbed. Why tell me at least twice that you have the supplies only to tell me that you have to go and get them? Wanted to know what some of you think.
