I usually check the door and most hotels are self locking. However I noticed someone removed the slip lock towards the top. I remember it not being there and remembering screw holes, but was in lust of what was about to go down with some seriously good pussy I didn't bother to ask, say anything etc. Hindsight, I should have barricaded the door with chairs.

There are traveler's hotel door locks. They're pretty cheap to buy and small and light to carry. That way if the hotel latch lock is gone you can use your own and they install in seconds. The intruders will be surprised when the door doesn't open and you'll get a heads up. After your story I'm thinking about getting one for hotel incalls myself.
