Try as you might, you folks cannot wish away, ignore, bully away a pandemic. We are here because of inept, incompetent leadership. The USA Has the worlds best scientists, researchers, hospitals and Medical doctors yet we have a global pandemic that has completely hijacked our economy, all AGAIN because of a failure of leadership by this President. The pandemic is only getting worse as the CDC now expects to have another 40,000+ COVID deaths in the month of August.

Trump politicized this pandemic. He claimed it was a Democratic hoax and belittled the recommended guidelines of the experts. He primed his cult of followers to actively oppose doing what needs to be done to fight this. Instead of bringing the country together to fight this as a team, he pitted conspiracy against science. We're living with the results of that, and unfortunately many people are dying because of that.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a health crisis that has caused an economic problem that is now causing political problems for Trump and the GOP. Now deal with that!

We don't agree on the overall usefulness of masks. Though we would agree on their uselessness in huge crowds during protests. We probably do on the reason why the media insists on creating hysteria regarding covid. We certainly would't agree on Trump.

However we both have jobs so I'll get on with mine and leave you to yours.

Kind of scanning the back and forth here, I can imagine at least some portion of readers are viewing this as an exchange between polar extremes, and thinking "the middle ground" or "moderate" or "centrist" position is where all the big kids are.

I've been mulling over my own "politics" lately, and warning myself away from "centrist bias" : that's the assumption that there's a middle ground where one can find the best solutions.

But what if *everyone* is so wrong that *the middle ground* is wrong too. By analogy, the Blues and Reds are searching for the treasure on opposite sides of the field, but it's actually buried in an empty lot twenty miles down the road.

There will be no *winner* in November because *everyone is completely wrong about everything*!
