I freely admit to being defensive at times. Mainly cause we live in a negative world where people always have unnecessary things to say when its not needed and that rubs me the wrong way.

I understand. But, from her perspective, you might be able to see how your insistence on the call and the texts. Maybe that could be overbearing or annoying.
