Posts: 1868So, here's the thing about socialist or communist "planned economy" systems: life is simpler.

You have fewer options, fewer freedoms, more safety nets. If you just kind of keep quiet and learn to play the game a bit (you have to know how to use the grey and black markets), you're "okay". You'll never be a CEO, but you'll never be crazy and homeless, either: the top and the bottom are both "capped".
(At least, that's how it was in the Soviet Union, before its dissolution; when I was there, I had "access", because I was in a protected class of people, but just comparing daily life in Moscow versus, say, Atlanta, you pretty much didn't see the kinds of depths of poverty and whole swathes of the city blanketed in hopelessness and despair like you do here in Grove Park and environs. But there was no "Buckhead", either. Of course, I'm thinking back almost 40 years through a youthful lens; might look different to me now!

Posts: 189Agree. Some of the girls prefer half hour because the tips are similar, the house fee is only $5. 00 -$10.00 less and it is much less work. Many of the girls make into the six figures and I would bet they pay less taxes than those of us who make similar amounts in occupations that don't receive tips.

As any management analyst worth his / her salt will tell you, there are two issues here. Trump's inability to LEAD is clearly on display for all to see;.

2) *The manner in which a president approaches and follows through on any complex issue facing our nation, is the key to uniting us and making us all feel part of the same team, willing to make sacrifices for each other. *As stated in number 1 above, while trust is the key to even this issue, it is our president's problem solving skills that are especially on display here.
Trump has failed miserably as our leader in both #1 and #2 above. *He has done nothing to gain the trust of all Americans, due to his inability to be honest, his unwillingness to put the good of American citizens above his own ego, and his attacks on anyone who questions his missteps (ALL presidents make missteps, just admit, fix it, and move on). *His only concern is his core followers who will stick with him, no matter how miserably Trump performs.
We have all seen how long it took Trump to establish a national approach (effective or not) to this pandemic. *Then we witnessed him using it to get media attention, and then backing off when that attention shined a light on just how poorly he was handling things. *Trump wanted it to be all about him as he proclaimed his favor for disinfectants, ultraviolet light, and hydroxychloroquine. * Trump quickly changed direction, evaded the daily media attention he initially thought would favor him and almost disbanded the team of experts assembled to establish a national pandemic strategy as he failed to provide the leadership our nation sorely needed.
Even worse, Trump kept our national pandemic guidelines in place while encouraging protestors to express their outrage against TRUMP'S national policy. *We all remember his rally, in one of our nation's "hotspots," organized against the wishes of local officials and in violation of Trump's own national policy. *Trump was willing to disseminate national guidelines but was unwilling to follow them, himself.
If any other president would have behaved like this, Trump's blind followers, would be screaming at the top of their lungs. *Let's be clear, this IS an emergency of national significance with no 100% iron clad solution. *But strong, decisive, consistent leadership would help unite all Americans as we battle this together, and willingly sacrifice for each other. *This is something Trump is both incapable of and unwilling to do. *This is why he is completely unqualified to be the our president.

Posts: 79How is life like under socialism? Can anyone shares? I asked some Chinese providers they said if there is better life in China they wouldn't take risk to come here and do this job to make money and send or bring back to China helping their families. I doubt if they told me the truth.
