Lots of different types. From pornstars to cosplay girls to models. Lots of different models they use it for, most are looking to sell additional pics, videos, or privates via messages. You can message, some like it for that, many don't. Some want tips for messages and if they're sending out mass requests regularly it's very easy for your message to not be seen.

The site is trying to go more legit and kicking off people who show any signs of anything off. I would not trust anyone using it as a tool to message for outside business. Most use Twitter or something else for that (which, I also don't trust, but I def don't trust one that has your name, credit, etc). That sucks because I usually go by number of reviews on LC to judge if the provider is real first, and next if she is good.

Usually check here but you don't ALWAYS find reports.
