Ever hear of "spoofing"? Scammers are able to imitate phone numbers of legitimate businesses and that includes PDs. If the cops really knew who you were, they'd be at your door. I can assure you that using a burner number, they cannot trace to your phone, regardless of the paranoia some believe. BTW, I had several calls to me also and when I looked it up, it came back Detroit PD. That was last year and I'm still using my phone.

Just don't do it. You book an hour for like 200-250. That's 3-4 dates for me. Next thing you know you pop after 10 minutes (they love it).
