I just get to the motel 10 minutes early and book the room while she's driving over. It's not exactly like we need to worry about hotels / motels being booked up.

Trust me, save your money and the headache by waiting until AFTER laying eyes on your provider / SB. If she's not your type after an in-person meet, no harm no foul. If she stands you up or ghosts, you will have lost nothing except time. But never, ever book a room in advance as it seems most SBs seem to dip (especially if the dude agrees to PBM)!

Here on these boards, I've always emphasized the importance of backup plans. First, I set something up close to where a SB says she's living as a matter of convenience for her. That way if she wants us to go back to her place, great! And if a hotel is needed, not a problem either. Second, if she's a no-show then it's possible that a backup SB near the same area could be available. I often set up a second separate date a couple hours after the first one which leaves me some wiggle room to beg off should the original date goes perfectly. Finally if all those dates are a bust, I look up the area I'm visiting in advance to see if there's some new restaurant to eat or a store to shop in that otherwise wouldn't be near my house / town.

So you see, this method means your time will not have been a complete waste. Make backup plans, and then backup plans to those backup plans! Try to make the most of any given situation. Hope this helps!
