You have to remember that both parties involved in this hobby aren't known for being the most reliable. Especially for the prices we seek. My advice is to think from a provider's point of view: they field a lot on non-serious texts that string them along. That's why their ads say no time wasters / call when ready. So show that you are serious and, if possible, be ready soon. Especially if you haven't established a rapport with that provider yet. They'll take someone now instead of a promise of a future date. Otherwise you always risk being outbid or someone cutting in line.
It sucks you got ghosted. She could have acknowledged the cancellation. If you try her again remind her of that, maybe she makes it right. Thanks for reporting.

The amount of phishing spam that is now coming in to a lot of these sights is enormous.
List Crawler and Escort Babylon has been overcome with fake ads. They will clean it up from time to time but still need to be aware.
On there its a lot of fake pictures directing you to gmail addresses and they list phone numbers this way 00-456-7654 Of which you can not even dial something like that.
I am sure that some nave person may try and send a note to the gmail address and then look out, your mail box will be overcome with spam.
