I got a call like that but it was tax related. They called me at work saying to give them x amount of money to pay my back taxes or the police will be at my job in 30 minutes to arrest me. I had to call IRS to see what was going on. They said it was a scam and those calls happen a lot that time of year.

I also don't know if this still happens, but avoid emails from those European women as well. I got suckered a couple times during my "young, desperate, and horny" days. Some of yall may laugh but when you stuck in the house for so long and you get an email from a hot eastern woman, trust me, your mind thinks these things.

These scams happen all of the time. My parents get a lot of the irs scams as well as family members in jail. They almost fell for it the first time, but I've got them trained to not answer the phone now unless it is a known number. I called the police and irs initially, and both spelled out the scams exactly as they occurred to the letter. They know them very well.

Excuse me as I now go work with the Nigerian prince email I just got. .

I report such calls to the Secret Service. A few years ago, I was selling a transmission. Dude contacts me offering way more than the asking price and to return part of that money to him via a deposit in a New York bank account. His text number was from New York State. Called the Secret Service and they nailed the asshole. Small group of Nigerians living in NY.

+1 to this. If you click the "Unsubscribe" button and it takes you to a page that requires you to type in your email address in order to unsubscribe, that's exactly what they are doing. Legit subscriptions provide custom links in the email rather than generic ones.

I've received lots of these types of threats and I tell them to take their information and stick it where the sun don't shine. I highly recommend you get a separate hobby phone so you dont have to worry about these scumbags.

I just got an e mail from someone who says they've Installed spyware on my phone and can see and record everything I do.

They want 2000.00 or they'll send video to people on my contacts list.

Have any of you ever gotten or heard of one of these?

It's a scam. These things show up in my spam folder all the time. Ignore.

I use googlevoice as my burner number. Here's some other info that might hel0.

You are using either the same device, number, or email for these accounts. They can't just randomly know its you, something is similar across the board.

Here's what I did.

1. Get a burner device. You can pick up a cheap android phone at walmart for under 50 bucks.

2. Create a new Gmail account with all fake information. Do not use your real name.

3. Get Google Voice with the new account, and get a free phone number. Once again, all fake info, do not use it on your real phone.

4. You can keep your burner phone anywhere now. Just keep it charged. You can access GV via any browser, just always use an incognito window to log in. You can now text with all the honeys you want anonymously.

4. Create any new fake social media accounts you want on the new phone. Once again, use all fake info.

5. Thats it, you are now set for mongering.
