They want 2000.00 or they'll send video to people on my contacts list.

Have any of you ever gotten or heard of one of these?

I've received lots of these types of threats and I tell them to take their information and stick it where the sun don't shine. I highly recommend you get a separate hobby phone so you don’t have to worry about these scumbags.

I got an email like that last year, hinting that they were able to hack my laptop camera and record a video of me jacking off. They threatened to send it to everyone on my email and social media contact list to embarrass me.

It's nothing more than ransomware trying to scare into sending them money through PayPal or some other untraceable means.

However, if they start emailing you private information that only you should know then I'd be more worried since that means some of your accounts have been compromised.

Never got one of those. It is a scam. Not surprised as scammers typically come out of the woodwork in an economic down turn. I would just ignore it and get a good night sleep. .
