Telecom companies can share aggregated data of mobile traffic. They do this already to manage the networks. For virus tracking it's really just sharing how much movement their network is picking up from their customer base, so that part is true. It's anonymous but is an indication of how well the stat at home orders are working. No different than counting cars on the roads via traffic cams.
The other stuff you mentioned screams of privacy infringement and sounds like fake stuff put out there just to stir up the masses.
If you are concerned about being tracked, shut your phone off.

Posts: 450COVID19 . Positive test = phone tracking?
Sorry if this topic or similar has been discussed elsewhere, but is there any traction to the notion of govt / health officials being able to take our phones or get info from our carriers in order to pinpoint where we have been over the past 2 weeks if we test positive? I've heard some database is being created by google? That will allow text messages to go out to all known people we could have been in contact with via location from or phones (and presume from others phones too)? Or did I hear this wrong? I did hear that some variation of this was used in South Korea where affairs and other illegal activities were discovered as a side effect.
Any legal experts care to weigh in?

Make it into a Uber type service but the drivers all have custom vans with privacy dividers. Schedule RockinVanz to pick you and your date up for convenient hh and hr rides around town! The vans just need good shocks / struts!

Charlie might be onto something with the rent my car thing? Lease out some Sprinter vans, you know the ones with no windows in the back! You can practically live in those things, LOL! Furnish the insides, and you have a mobile airbnbbj machine! You could pick up the ladies, drop them back off, whenever necessary! There's probably a whole host of Dot regulations involved for someone with way more time on their hands, but that would be slick? May need to have some other color than white for the sprinter van too! Need a catchy name for it too!

Posts: 444Charlie beats me in the "I've got too much time to over think things during the apocalypse" category. Unless another monger out there wants to do a Return On Investment analysis for the fictional Airbnbbj business to see if it's viable? LOL.

It just doesn't seem like the best of ideas unless you really want to shake the Yahtzee cup and see what comes of it. Keep in mind, it is a felony conviction. I would venture to guess that it's been tried (and failed).

I'm sure Hunter is getting flexible too. Not sure if she can squint her eyes though.
Both have immaculate clean houses.

Posts: 269Especially if you call it AirBnBBJ (LOL)! In Michigan (or is it just GR? Last I checked, it's against the official rules to hop on Airbnb to rent out your house without you being there. Basically it has to be like a bed & breakfast (minus the breakfast). It's to keep hotels & motels running well, because they hate it. Now, how enforced is that? Probably not too much. But you create a make-shift version called AirBnBBJ, for rent-by-the-hour, it'll be cracked down Hard.

Also, Airbnb doesn't run anything except a website and set the rules people have to abide by. Just the the rent-my-car type places. It's independent.
So what's brought up is more than that. For it to be Verified Cleaned after every "bedroom shift", and not gain bad exposure, it sounds like you'd have to run each place yourself. Or, have "managers" like uber drivers "man" their own premises, so they'd have to Be there anyway (no local law violation).
Essentially, it sounds like you'd buy houses in the dirty west side, around heritage hill - easttown, with multiple apts in it, and work from there. And also allow folks who own such houses to partner up and run their own and be an independent contractor, and follow the rules, etc. They would always have to have someone on-site.
You couldn't call it AirBnBBJ. That's so funny. Not only would it put a target symbol on it for being "short shift stays", but you'd get customer complaints that they thought they were promised a BBJ, but the girl demanded a condom put on!
Instead you'd call it something appealing to blocks of time. Appealing to folks traveling in from out of town early, going to leave in the evening, or people coming in at night, and leaving early morning -- and are just wanting a place to crash with Privacy. Or just people coming in for a business meeting and needing a place to freshen up, get their stuff together, go to that, collect their things, and be on their way. A "budget" stand-by, if you will. A step up from having a friend in town to temporarily utilize, and not needing a whole day / night hotel-motel experience.
Problem is, outside the monger arena, you're not going to get much pull at all. The price isn't going to be any different than a budget motel. I just want to use it for a day. OK. Still going to get taxed by the local govt same as hotel / motel -- and it's not going to be worth it changing everything and wiping it down, etc. , for lower price than a super-budget motel from 3 pm - 9 am the next day, even if you've only got it booked for 2 hours. I don't see the pull outside hotel / motels being filled during an event or the monger market for their own "out calls".
MY THOUGHTS: Just hit up guys on AirBNB -- and ask for a discount for just a block of time here and there. Find one that's cool with it, repeat. Expand your portfolio of options too.

It would seem to me the proprietor of such a business would have a much higher legal jeopardy.

If it can be done, is it what we want. Hopefully Charlie441 will chime in.
