You are 100% correct that drawing a gun in a provider situation to recover money is not only stupid but dangerous. Anyone that has been involved in a shooting knows the amount of agravation you go through even if you are right. If you are not trained you also can have your ". 45 or 9" taken away from you and used on you as in pistol whipped or worse. I was faced with an attempted robbery situation with a provider several years ago and I immediately reversed the situation and strong armed the boy friend. A well placed chop to the troat, a knee in the balls and a jab in the kidneys sent him to the floor wimppering. He had no idea what had just happened to him, he was totally caught off gard. I am not a big guy nor am I a young man but swift decisive action using good physical protection tactics saved my ass in that situation. I grabbed her and slammed her into a wall and told her that "if I ever saw either one of them again I would kill both of them" she literally peeded her pants in her moment of terror. I was definitely carrrying a concealed weapon (380. With deadly rounds) but the last thing I would have done was to have presented it in this situation. Had either one of them pulled a knife or other weapon I would have attempted to depart ASAP without revealing my weapon, however if I was cornered with no route of escape there is a good chance I would have neutralized the threat immediately. By the way I never saw another advertisement for her again anywhere!

I totally agree with your last paragraph. A fire arm should only be presented or used if you have no reasonable means of escape and your life is eminent danger. Do not think you can then run from the scene and no one will ever find you. You would be one of the luckiest people in the world if you did get away with no ramifications. With todays forensics and other investigative tools you will be located. You also will be charged with leaving the scene even if you were initailly justified in the use of deadly force. Like was stated the loss of the small amount of money is inconseqental and can be replaced. The amount of money you will lose in a use of force situation will be staggering compared to the minimal loss of "fun" money. I hope my little discourse will cause all of you to think before you act and be more carefull as to the situations you insert yourself in. I actually got robbed once by a provider. Wasn't much, couple hundred bucks. It was the whole "BF walks in" nonsense. I told them I knew what it was and to keep the money, since they obviously needed it more than I did. I didn't lose any sleep over it, it's just money after all. The presence of a gun would have made things 100 times worse. What happens if you end up needing to use it? Then the police are definitely involved and a few hundred dollars private issue ends up becoming a much bigger issue, let alone a much more public one. At that point, I'd be praying to pay several thousand to make it go away.
