Don't ever give a good description of your car or self prior. Be vague or outright lie about the vehicle. Drive around a couple time too and see if anything seems off. The few times I've done this I always do a couple spins the check the neighborhoods and even text back saying I'm having trouble finding the place and see if shell step out. I think you've already self-educated, pointing out burn marks and a drug pipe, not to mention forking over the donation as soon as you walk in the joint. You'll not do those things again. Read the posts here. And not just the Hartford forum. You'll find examples all over of what to avoid. I'll only add a few here: no upfront sending of cash through any form of electronic payment.
