So I am bit paranoid right now.

I just finished a session with someone. We where at a hotel in a shadier place in town. I was a bit concerned being seen because there where cleaners on the other side of the room. However I went in when they went in to clean.

When I finished the session I left and I did not see anyone in the "hallway" (the room leads to a outside area) leaving the room. I start walking back to my car in the hotel parking lot but there was a cop car chilling in the hotel parking lot. I walked past casually and they looked serious. I went into my car and I drove around the cop car and then I went on my way no problem.

I am concerned they got a report from the cleaners by me walking in a random room. And the cops where there jotting down cars vin numbers or licenses plates. I parked in a random spot in the hotel lot because it was 90 percent empty. However I am wondering now if there is assigned parking and I blew my cover for being the odd one out.

On one hand it is a shaider part of town so maybe they are just doing a patrol. On the other hand the hotel was not the nicest so maybe there was another report.

Nothing happened to me when I was there, but I am concerned if it was a report it will get routed back to me at my place of address.

Am I being paranoid? What should I do in this situation. (I have a idea what to do in the future) Is there anything you would recommend to check?

I was hoping to get some thoughts for people who are more experienced.

You could have been a lost delivery man for all they know. Cops didn't have any reasonable suspicion (for example, traffic violation, crime being committed), to pull you over. Simple as that however you were lucky that they didn't decide to break police procedure and mess with you.

Cops most likely ran your plates for warrants. That warrant check will be noted in their system. I doubt you'll get a letter sent to you. But the letter thing has happened in some places if you Google it.

Got to watch for the cleaners. They get bored cleaning. Try to park on the street if you can. Blending in is key. Small empty parking lots are the worst for blending in. And yes, very possible that the motel had assigned parking. Next time, scope the place out ahead of time and observe what's going on. That has saved me a couple of times.

You're fine. No one knows or cares what you might have been doing in a room. If no one stopped you on the way out, it's ancient history. The cops weren't there for no reason and obviously the reason wasn't you or you'd know. Think about it, what in the world would they contact you about later on? Even if they did stop you, unless the person you just saw in there was a cop, how could they know what might have transpired? Being that you say this was a shady location, they were very likely there for something more serious than consenting adults doing things with their clothes off and maybe helping each other out with some financial assistance. What you were doing in that room is so low level compared to what the cops care about that I promise you, you were not on their radar. I would recommend not seeing providers in shady places. You're more likely to end up witnessing some serious shit you have nothing to do with that places you at the scene than anything you're doing. Really, forget about it, you're good.

Is there a law against stopping by a hotel, even in a shady part of town? Cops cannot read your mind. They only know as much as your body language or your own mouth tells them. They know the guilty ones act guilty, and they exploit this, and you make their job easier by singing like a canary. Walk like you own the place, and if you do get picked up, say nothing. Am I being detained officer, or can I go? I am not saying anything until I talk to my lawyer. Can I go? You act like a criminal, and they will treat you like one.
