I must say, I've been guilty of it once or twice. I guess everyone has their reasons. In my case, my schedule is limited on the days I can play, so I've had occasions in which I waited longer than most would've have, only because I'd rather wait and still get laid that day, than to give up too soon and then have to wait another week or two to make up for it.
