This morning I ran my filter for 'Athens Area" on SA, and noticed a literal flood of new faces. Over the previous 12 hours, 50+ profiles popped up which had not been there over the last few weeks. Some were brand new, many were months or even years old. Almost all only contained 1 or 2 pictures, and very brief AboutMe / Seeking info. Some however did reference college, UGA, or Athens specifically.

Either there are dozens of women in Athens who lost money on the Super Bowl, or somewhere a scammer operation cycled through to "Athens GA" on the spreadsheet of profiles to refresh. One dead giveaway is how many of the profiles show the recent location as "Russian Federation, Pakistan, India". I suppose there could be a lot of broke coeds returning from a semester abroad in some shitty locations. But honestly it it appears to be a staggering glimpse of the fraud going on if they are running dozens of fake accounts in this one small area alone.

I slipped up and gave my real number to someone, they sent a screen shot of my FB (everything is set to private except my relationship status) and claimed I needed to pay up or they'd inform her. I told them go right ahead. Nothing every happened, but people are shitty LOL. I wasn't worried about it, it was only a girl I had just started dating for 2 weeks.

Yeah that happened with me with an escort, talked about how I wasted her time when she never replied back and wants money or she will send messages to my family. LOL such gutter trash we have to deal with here in Atlanta.

Mine came out of SC (I am in STL). I screen shot every profile I start to text with if questionable age to show they misrepresented their age if this might happen. She texted some nudes and kept pimping me for some nudes back which I refused to send. Day of meet she told me she was 17 and I cut off contact with her and blocked the number and reported her. Next day got a call from "Dad" that he found my number on her phone and the messages. He wanted a few hundred to make this all go away or he would report this to my local police. Told him I will see you in court. A few hours later I get a call from a local number. Voice mail says Detective so and so from the County I live in. I Google the number and it does list local sex crimes division where I live. I call and its a rude guy saying if you make good with the father (payment) I won't have to proceed. That's when I knew it was a scam. Had his name and asked his badge number to call back and verify. That's when his whole game fell apart and he starting cussing and refused to give it to me. Laughed and hung up. Never heard from again. LE will not text or call you in this situation. They show up at your known residence or place of employment.

Same thing happened, I put if you attempt to contact "1" more time I will be contacting the authorities with all the fabulous intel you just sent me. Nothing after.

Sorry, I lost track of which forum I was in. Clearly they got it off of SA. I was hoping that you didn't send it for "verification" which obviously is not the situation. Sorry this is happening. I to feel like if you bow up and call their bluff, it should scare them off.

It's happened to me twice. Both times I've played the same playbook:

I think she is a scam. We been chatting for a few days and she wanted me to meet her at her house. Said bring a game card for her daughter and condoms. Asked her a few questions and she said she is a vet dr. She got really upset when I asked for the address a second time. I didn't go seems fishy and now I cannot find her profile or our chat history anywhere.

So I decided to check the address she provided at a much later time. Google gives you a house and picture but county records shows a lot. Drove by this morning and it's not far from the court house where LEO can trap you.
