Haven't done it before, but this year am planning on doing the red envelope thing for one of the girls I see regularly. There is a whole etiquette regarding the amount. Should be even number, and by even number it is by the first digit of the amount. Also should not be 4 since that is considered unlucky. Best to google to get the exact details.

They do sell specific envelopes for this. Got it at one of those asian specialty shops at the mall.
