I agree with you the prices are really quite high compared to what you could find. Yes, you can find easily providers for 120/ hour, and they might have better service or be more enthusiastic. Even though I've only been in the hobby 2 years so far, and mostly lurk and read, I am aware of the price ranges of the regular providers around. However, I am quite picky and do not do this often, so for me, an extra 40-60-80 bucks in a year is not much to get the type of girl I'm looking for. I do see some providers semi-regularly, and for those the rates are much more competitive than the one-shots I take with unique providers. So its a matter of how often you see them for me. If you see providers regularly, of course you want it to be low as possible as often as possible. However, if you're like me, and only do this once in a while for very few selected providers that catch your eye, the price is not an issue. Maybe I am wrong and I contribute to overpricing. I hate to negotiate as I believe it sets the wrong mood and can tarnish an experience unless there is some familiarity between you and the provider. There is an upper limit to what I will pay for, and I try to average around 120-140/ hhr over the long run, with notable exceptions as you noticed.
