(This, friends, is exactly why you never, ever, EVER pay money up front ... we all know if I had done that, it would have been the last I heard from her.)

What a disappointment. I loved Alice's quirky and unusual looks, and kept hoping she was just an airhead who would actually show up. But, in the end, she's a colossal time waster and a scammer.
