I've heard from several police officers who have quit or spoken out against them that they get literally no training on the law or rights of citizens, all of that they glean when they are doing field training. Maybe.

What is the difference between police of today and highway robbers in the old west? Cops sit on the highway pull you over and at the point of a gun take money from you. If you're lucky that's all they do. Five most dangerous minutes of your life is when you're ever involved with a cop.
