The phone thing bothers me to no end. With two different providers I've told them to put the phone away or I'm walking with my money. Which works very well if you don't pay until after services are rendered. If they balk at not getting paid upfront show them the money and then put it back in your pocket until after you have finished. If they still balk find someone different, you probably saved yourself a lousy date, or saved yourself from getting ripped off. I used to pay upfront until I got ripped off.
