I'm not saying this method is a panacea. It will deter a setup by uncle LEO but it doesn't make my dates thug-proof. It helps, since someone intent on ripping me off may not take the risk if they think I'm only showing up with 50 bob. And if I am ripped off, they're only getting 50, since the rest will be hidden in my car. If you try the above, don't lax your usual precautions, and don't suggest a platonic date with a wink.
