The part I don't understand it, if there's no charges how can they charge you for the impound fee? Extortion? Come on. They could tow 25 cars a day and get away with it. Your lawyer didn't get the impound fees waived or refunded? That means those cock suckers still win. Just my thoughts.

The tow truck drivers get paid per hook and there's a daily storage charge that keeps accruing until you come and pay and get it out. If you let it sit at the yard long enough, they'll eventually auction your vehicle. It sounds fucked up but they consider the vehicle abandoned after a number of days.

The fees are no different if you were to receive a ticket and go to court to fight it and get completely off, you're still paying the court costs! The Tow yard gets paid from the City and the City's s going to recoup their money one way or another!

I had my vehicle back the next day as soon as I took my attorney down there with me of course pay the impound fee and get the release the take to the towing yard. But you're right on the second part because how could they prove. Even if she's a known SW, how do they know I'm not just giving her a ride or take her to get some food because I know her. That's why I think the prosecutor's office try to add some different charges and my attorney kicked their asses and I walked out of there with nothing and no record. I'm not a lawyer but I've been through it unfortunately. I did get a lawyer, wasn't much on getting the vehicle back without paying the impound and towing fees or at least my attorney said it wasn't worth trying to fight it, but when the prosecution's office found out I was going to fight the solicitation charge, they try to put more charges on, I got the case dismissed in the end and nothing is on my record. I recommend always to fight it. You don't want a solicitation charge on your record.
