As of late, quite a few providers have been asking for payments with Green Dot Visa cards. They ask the visa be picked up at a Walgreens, the full payment of the date put on it, and a picture of the card along with the receipt be texted to them as proof.

Anyone who asks you to send a picture of the card, or the numbers from it, before you meet is 99.9% probability of a scam. The card will be empty within minutes, and you'll never see them. I thought this was well known. A while back there were about 60 profiles scattered around the country, one per city, all managed centrally, where all they did was gift card scams. They even created multiple fake reviews on the monkey site for each profile to try to make it convincing. There were never any actual women at all.

If I were you, I would avoid this at all cost. There was some scam going on regarding green dot cards a while ago. Not all prepaid debit cards are created equal. Green Dot is one of the few that will work at hotels / motels / notels. It can also be used for Uber and Door Dash or Grubhub. For a provider on her game and not just looking for the next hit it makes a lot of sense.

Having said that, no way am I texting them a picture of it first for the exact reason you mentioned. I'll have the amount written on it and bring the receipt when I meet them.
