Many ads have neither comments or reviews and, for ads that do have them, providers are able to have negative items removed pretty easily. I've seen quite a few providers who had a long thread of negative comments attached to their ad on one day and then, on the next, the negative ones are magically gone from the thread. Even easier, if they change their phone number and post a new ad, all the old comments don't carry over and are left in the dust. Also, and this applies to both sections, it's super easy to register a username and self-post or self-review and you can see plenty of instances where that's the case. And I guess it's also possible that LE could put in a bogus review or comment in an attempt to make one of their sting ads look legit.

For all those reasons I'm not a fan of those sections and I take them with a giant grain of salt. The reason for my focus on the "Old Posts" section is because that's more resistant to manipulation and it's something LE probably wouldn't make the effort to mess with (because they don't need to).

If you think about it, what LE mainly cares about when running a sting is making arrests. If they post an ad on a single day, maybe repeating it a few times on that day, they'll catch plenty of mongers who don't take the time to do homework. Easy as shooting fish in a barrel without having to do anything fancy or involved. IMHO, they're indifferent as to whether they catch stupid mongers or smart ones, as long as the arrest numbers look good to their bosses and the media. So, while they could theoretically make a carefully crafted fake ad, with a history of "Old Posts," why go to the trouble? That's why, strictly for purposes of figuring out if a provider is likely to be legit, I think it's a better strategy to focus on her ad-posting history. It's not a 100% guarantee, but it's less likely to give you a false positive and less susceptible to manipulation.
