Seriously, what we have now may suck due to the draconian laws but back then. Well, it truly sucked. There was no Internet so getting information about who does what, whether they are rip-offs or whatever was near impossible. Sure, there was word of mouth, and a few magazines but for the most part those of us around back then took a LOT of chances. And mid-1980's was the height of the AIDS / HIV scare so you had that thrown in the mix, too. Thanks for this story. Giuliani really messed up everything. What he did was made worse because obviously with all the websites that started to pop up. Especially EROS which has been around for like 20 years now. I know this sounds crass but I just wish that that site (Eros) and others like Switter would go down and for the remaining ones they would be censored more and it would be hard for providers to make websites.
