Never robbed or scammed. Like others have said, we really live in a world now where you can get some history on people before seeing them, so get the blood out of your little head and back into your big one and do some research. This board is a great resource.

Now, some 20 years ago, I did get caught in a sting. It was in San Diego. The internet was just beginning, and boards were beginning to pop up. I was on one board, and there was a sting, where the cops would nab someone, and as part of the deal they would get their username and password, and use said credentials and post fake reviews. So this one provider popped up, looked hot, had some reviews, so I called her. She started asking over the phone, "What are you into?" I am fairly vanilla in my tastes and I told her so, but she pressed for what "vanilla" means. That should have been a flag.

I got to the hotel, nothing really flagged. Nice looking woman behind the door. She asked for the donation on the nightstand, and went into the bathroom. That's when I noticed that the door to the next room (you know, the one you can open to make two rooms into one, if you had someone next door) was slightly ajar. As soon as I laid the money down, two dudes comes through that door with badges. I get handcuffed and sat on the bed. I get a lecture about how just by following up on the offer I am guilty. I sat there and said nothing but "yes, sir" and "no, sir. " Well they must have felt sorry for me, and told me that I can go to "John School" and get the charge reduced. The school cost $100, and was some ex-druggie ***** talking about how pimps ruined her life, blah blah blah. I did ask her, are there not women who do this because they enjoy sex and may as well get paid to do something they like? She looked at me like I was an alien. Oh well, "graduated" and got my certificate of completion. Walked into the station, and they returned all the evidence they took, which is really the donation. So, for $100, I got away with it.

Bottom line, be careful how you negotiate. Check the room out. And yeah, if it is a sting, clam up, and don't offer anything beyond yes and no.

Oh and you said you like to have them come to your place. Okay if you have a hotel room, but think about this. If you are inviting them to your home, and she is pimped, what is stop her and her pimp to come to your home later and rob you blind? Watch Tom Cruise's first major movie "Risky Business. " That scenario may be more common than you think.

I am probably sharing too much, but I have been caught up in a sting in another state where I was lured in by a friend (I thought) who got in nabbed for possession while running her business. I got a text from her asking me to come see her, I knew her well (sem-regular) so, thought nothing of it. About 2-3 minutes after I walked in I was greeted by a group that were hiding in the shower area for me to walk in. That night, over a period of 3-4 hrs about 15 other people suffered the same fate. Just as an FYI. I got the most expensive help I could, nothing stuck, so about a month after the ordeal I walked away without a scratch. It was a rough month though and cost my bank balance dearly.

Oh BTW, that lady that used me as bargaining chip? Haha a few years later she moved to another city and got in the kind of trouble that you do not get out of too easily. She did a strech and I have the mugshot to prove it. What goes around comes around I guess. When you throw someone else under the bus to save your own skin, you may experience a small victory, but what you do not realize is that you have already started loosing a bigger battle.

Personally, no. And I've been doing this a loooong time. I just stick to people that have reviews by reputable people. I never see anyone who's a newbie that has no one to vouch for them. Which maybe means I miss out on a lot of hidden gems or finding girls before other people do. But it also means I've never had anything unsafe happen. Also if something looks too good to be true, I pass on it. Maybe save the photos for later though. I've used burner apps, but tbh unless you're using a burner phone that you bought in cash, LE could still if they really wanted / had a reason to, find you out via the app pretty easily. Most of the apps have to comply with subpoenas and hand over data. Depending on their telcom provider on the back end, they may be required to store 30-60 days of texts / call logs. Unless they go with a HIPAA compliant one in which case they don't. I use the apps for my own safety as regards the providers, not as a guaranteed means of avoiding LE trouble (although it's better than using your personal number).

The only one in the area I have known to do BBFS is Karen in Anacortes. But I think YMMV applies to her. She is running UTR right now though, very low volume it seems.
