Deposit is a scam. They'll ask for cashapp, gift cards, etc. These are generally nigerian style scams from far away. This is why they won't pick up the phone or anything.

The only real providers that ask for deposits are porn stars or very very high end escorts that require a deposit to show you are real with your intent so you do not waste their time or are just some crazed fan hoping to meet the porn star with no intention on paying.

There is a certain age range where the only people they talk to on the phone are their parents. So part of it is cultural. You may be more comfortable with phone calls, but she may be more comfortable with texts.

There are guys out there who call and seems to be angling for some free phone sex, so it cuts down on wasted time. And it allows you to have simultaneous conversations with multiple clients in between seeing other clients, so it is practical and efficient. I'm sure there are also guys who would try to claim they agreed to a different price, when a text leaves no question. I can see how a woman might determine that clients who insist on phone calls tend to be more trouble than they are worth.

Just got a response from a St. Louis provider and she wants a deposit before scheduling with me. There are plenty of providers that don't require that.
