Girl told me the other day that there is free testing at the BCC clinic on uLA for HIV & HepC!. So I looked it up! They have a "drop in" clinic open Monday Friday 7 am to 12 pm.

I used a location in CC. Last time was a year or so ago. This visit was a result of a failed latex product.

I used it before maybe 10 years ago, been there awhile. They do ask a lot of information on sexual history.

Before you had to return for results now you're in and out with results.

Now, not even a uncovered BJ. There is just too much risk. You are more likely to contract other STD's than the dreaded one.

I really do appreciate the detailed information, you could literally spend hours looking for info like that and still not find it. Seems way counter productive to me. Meaning making info like that hard to find. Has anyone had experience at the county / state clinic? Not sure who runs it but the one in Wilmington. What exactly do they make you do?

Ive thought about just going once every other month or so just as a precaution but want to know ahead of time just how handsy theyll be.

You know the system is broke if I even have to ask that. If they wanted to stop of these diseases they would just let anyone be tested no questions asked. Addicts would never show up and they literally are their target market. How to fuck up public health.....

Thanks for posting that. You stepped on a 'hot button' for me, so I'll pull out the old soapbox.

On the STD thread elsewhere on this site, there still is a fair amount of ignorance surrounding HIV testing. Oh and I run into it with girls as well. When HIV was first discovered and the big scare went, out the only tools available for detection were the Gen 1 & 2 antibody tests. But like brick cell phones, technology marches on and now we are up to Gen 4 testing and optional RNA testing. The point is that exposure to HIV can now be detected as soon as 9-11 days after exposure / infection. That is because the RNA test actually looks for or detects the virus. The 'old" tests looked for antibodies, made by the immune system in response to the virus. In some people it took their bodies / immune systems up to 3 months to produce antibodies. Gen 4 testing looks for antibodies AND antigens and the antigens appear and this can be detected much sooner than antibodies. So new tech finds the actual virus sooner.

So no more of this: "You have to get tested and be clean, then wait & be celibate or monogamous another 3-months for one to 'truly' know they are free of HIV!" OK? Got iT? If you want to know go get the Gen 4 testing. If you REALLY need to know NOW- get the RNA testing!

It typically resides in the trigeminal ganglion and when activated typically (99%) travels to the mouth, lip, face but on occasion (1%) can take a detour to the eye or eyelid and that can be bad news. HSV type 1 can infect skin if you have an open wound or sore leading to Herpetic Whitlow so you would want to be safe as active oral HSV 1 could contaminate an open wound if that person did not already have antibody resistance to HSV 1 from previous exposure. As most people over 20 do. Originally thought to be 95% of people over 20, it is now thought to be about 70% but this is easily identified on a blood draw looking for IgG HSV1 - and this is again, not considered sexually transmitted. Herpes Zoster (Shingles) is a different herpetic virus. Reactivated Chicken Pox. And while it is not sexually transmitted, if you are over 50, you need the new 2-part vaccination. Even if you have had previous shingles or the previous, less-effective vaccination. Should you develop an STD, HZV infection is more likely to develop particularly if it is from HIV. Stay safe.

Hey, have a question wanted opinions from you guys.

I have a good SB of over one year, and we have BBFS, DATY and DFK during intimacy. Recently she had her first 10 panel STD test and surprisingly she is HSV1 positive. I got worried and tested mine and is clean, like before. She never had any genital symptoms but did have cold sores before.

So could her HSV-1 from cold sore instead of sexaul transmission? Can we stil do DATY and BB or must use cover now.

Also, heard 50-70% of worlds population has HSV1 positive- that to me means HSV-1 must transmitted other than sex, if so should it even be considered STD?

Quick question for my safety tho. Do you guys normally ask to see the girls std screenings or do they ask for yours? I assume they don't care as long as they see the green! Comments please.

When I'm about to see someone lets say the little head does the thinking and to this day I've never asked for std screenings and girls don't really ask to see mine. The most they'll do is ask if the last time I went to the doctor that everything checked out.

Whats the benefit of doing this? Why not just use your doctor or clinic? Doesn't hippa prevent anyone from knowing? Will using insurance come back to haunt you? I seriously don't know.
