First of all, I'll bet good money that this profile is fake, fake, fake. Probably some sort of scammer that wants 'gifts' to prove you're serious or something. If all the pics in the profile are not from the area you're in, it's fake.

Second of all, the platonic thing is just girls trying their luck at something they think just might exist. They're hunting for unicorns. It's free to create a profile on SA and their time is worth exactly what their minimum job gives them which is not much. I always laugh when young girls state 'my time is valuable'.
