Saw a new ad for Sunstar on Lee Hwy. Seemed promising even though experience from years ago was disappointing, but figured they must have new staff by now. Figured I'd give the a try again. First choice, she could have completed the 60 min massage + HJ, for which I think a $40 tip (the going rate everywhere else) would have been fair. Second choice, she could have completed the 60 min massage with nothing extra, for which I think a 20% tip ($20 if feeling generous) would have been fair.

But she chose what, IMHO, was the unacceptable option of cutting your session short by more than half. Even with a decent HJ at the end, that doesn't offset the BS upsell and 50% shorting of time.

Some might think that's too drastic, but I see tipping as a way of communicating how pleased or displeased I am with the service and I have no problem using that communication method to make a point. I also never make such a drastic statement if there's any chance I might visit again in the future. But, with the scenario you describe, I'd almost certainly never repeat so "No Tip" would be my way of saying goodbye, good riddance, and maybe prompting some rethinking on their part. Also, if there a MMS available, I'd make sure she was aware of the situation.

It would be great karma if a bunch of mongers would visit this place in the near future and for every one who got the same crap treatment to walk out with little or no tip.
