You can always get a burner prepaid phone. It'll still show up as a real number (as opposed to an app), but then it won't be tied to your main cell phone plan (assuming you're trying to hide your hobbying from a spouse). Destiny has been using that system for years though, and no one has ever reported any issues arising as a result, so I don't think it's that big of a worry with the providers who are well-known and reputable.
