It has been a little while since I logged in to that website, but here is my experience. Using VPN with a non-US location I could log in no problem. Reviews outside the US were readily available. Discussion boards in the US (such as NC area) were readily available but falling into disuse. Reviews in the US were not accessible. However, I could still access the (US) reviews that I personally wrote.

I emailed the admin and last I knew they were claiming they would be back in the US when their lawyers gave them the OK. Given how conservative and risk-averse lawyers are, I'm not holding my breath. It's a shame to lose a resource because the more resources we all have the better off we are. USASG did a great job of adjusting server locations and whatever else needed to get back online. Remains to be seen if others will follow in their footsteps, or not.

I tried using a non US VPN a while ago and they took down the US section of TER completely. FYI I used a European based VPN as well as a Central American based one and a Canadian one. No luck at all.

Two million dollar ideas:

1. A compete TER clone run out of Canada so to avoid the federal law that's so fucked up the hobby. Many other sites have made the transition, I believe including this one. As you recall it was shut down for a time last year.

2. An escort site that actually has true verification of providers. Every major city has a number of legit, seasoned hobbiests that see girls before they are allowed to post an ad. Pics need to be legit, or block out faces if they are concerned with privacy.

So I went to see this provider. Directed to a decent townhouse complex, and went upstairs to room. What's weird is things started out reasonably. This was on New Market Way Near spring forest rd. When I first walked in I didn't see / notice anyone else in the house. After the second woman impersonating LE came in, I didn't see the original woman on my way out. That said I just sort of walked out in a rush and didn't look back. Part of me wishes there was some petty way to get back at these fools, but the smarter part of me knows best to just chalk it up as a loss and move on.
