I never really understood why people use these abbreviations. Its not as if its really saving that much typing time. $. 8 equals $180. You saved yourself from typing 1 character. Wow. Simple miscommunication of the silly coded abbreviations used on here. Look at the top center of the page and you will see a tab labeled abbreviations. The first ones listed is the decoder for use of $.

$ = $100; $$ = $200; etc. The decimal points are for additional denominations of 10 dollars.

So, if you post a review stating you paid $. 8, that will be taken as 180 dollars; . 8 will be taken as 80 dollars.

Others just leave out the $ sign altogether and post like normal. 80 = 80 dollars; 120 = 120 dollars instead of the ever confusing $. 2 for 120 dollars.
