LOL, yes, there sure are. Problem is their definition of what it means to be a SB is much different from what you or I might think. They know not what that commitment means and can't deliver on it. 1. They want to remember a loved one (often overlooking that bfs can come and go!)

2. Something significant happened in their life (like prison) and they want to permanently remember it.

3. They think they are artsy-fartsy and the tattoos are permanent expressions of that.

4. They liked to draw on their skin with Sharpies or pens when they were younger and they graduated to permanent images.

6. They saw someone else with a cool tattoo and thought "me too". Forever.

Back in the 1980's it was rare to see a girl with tattoos at all. In the 1990's tatoos on the lower back (tramp stamp) or around the ankle area exploded and became widely popular. And now in the 2000's girls are covering their whole bodies and even their face with tatoos. About 3 years ago I use to see a 23 ish young girl with a bunch tattoos all over her body including a dollar sign tattoo on her face. She was legit beauty pageant material but her face is ruined now.

Personally, I think tatoos look ok if done right. I like the tattoo work done in Japan by hand that takes years to do over time and is very painful. Over here in the United States, the tatoo work in the west coast looks far superior than the tatoo work on the east coast, in my opinion. Tatoos that have to be earned like they do in the criminal underworld in Russia look ok too.

Its got to be done right and have an overall theme. Most don't do it right. Most people are just following popular culture and so they just pick an unskilled tatoo artist and chose random spots to put permanent ink in effort to appear to be cool / edgy and so it comes out horrendous and trashy looking.
