When I first started in the hobby this veteran monger told me the ladies are more afraid of us then we should be of them and they did not want to catch anything. I always check the ladies hygiene and look for any obvious signs of mouth sores, body sores, bad odor, etc. If I see notice anything I don't do anything. Of course the CDC job is to scare people and that is fine but if you have concerns always ask your doctor and they will go through the science with you.

Well we all know that you CAN catch it or MAY catch it, but that article didn't give any statistics so.

We're all well aware of the risks associated with our hobby and we're all free to choose what we think is best for us. There doesn't appear to be any rampant epidemic of STDs related to most of our hobby so.

We can talk about rates and percentages all we want, but there is a reality as to how something like herpes is transmitted. If skin that has herpes activated on it (and sometimes you can't see it) rubs with skin that does not have herpes on it then the skin that does not have herpes on it is going to get herpes. Period. It's not 25% of the time. Or 50% of the time. It's 99% of the time. We can talk about all the BBBJs that we have had without receiving herpes, but if these claims are true then it's only because you have not had contact with skin that has herpes on it. Sure, there is a chance that all the women you have seen did not have herpes on their mouth, or that they did have herpes on their mouth and you happened to catch them while they were not having a break out, or there's a chance that many people are just lying. So, if you have had lots of BJs and never received herpes then maybe you're defying the odds. But the fact remains, if non-herpes infected skin rubs with skin that does have herpes then the non-infected skin is going to get herpes. This contact can be mouth to gential, genital to genital, thigh to thigh, leg to leg, mouth to leg, etc. It does not matter. If non-infected skin comes into long / hard contact with infected skin then it's going to get infected. Period.

Now, I hate to be negative, but someone does have to be honest. There are worse things than herpes so the choice is yours, just make an informed choice please. Please remember that someones mouth herpes can become your genital herpes.

Personal experience: When I started this, I started with covered BJs only. Then I picked up a chick in Rogers Park a few years back that looked so good that I went bareback. It was awesome and I stayed healthy. I did this two more times and the same result. I did this the next time and the next day, my dick looked like something from a horror movie. For months I thought it was herpes, turned out that it was just a yeast infection, which is rare in itself, but regardless, it only took me about 4 BBBJs to encounter something. I hear ya. I know of a provider wasn't in the business long but supposedly she got one from a guy through BBBJ.
