Yep, I have no rep here so you can take what I say with a grain of salt.

Even if Uncle LEO is more interested in taking down the people in charge, they could still subpeona mongers to testify. And if they offer immunity from prosecution, one's Fifth Amendment right to remain silent would no longer apply.
