I'm not an attorney. I don't pretend to be one on TV either.

But there must be some antiquated old law about actually handing somebody cash from your hand to the providers hand that equates to prostitution 'after' you have done the deed. Something is genuinely different if you "leave it somewhere else" for her to pick up afterwards, like the nightstand or counter, that somehow differentiates it from payment for sex and a genuine 'tip' for services rendered, whatever that may have been.
