The thing the "only enter legally" people either don't know or don't give a shit about is post 911 it's nearly impossible for a brown person to gain legal entry in the US. We could solve that problem overnight though if we wanted to. Fine anybody who employs an undocumented worker 100,000 for the first, 200,000 for the second, 400,000 for the third ect.

In a week there would be no undocumented labor.

Of course there wouldn't be any construction, restaurants unless you ate on paper plates, fresh vegetables, or fresh fruit unless you wanted to pay around 10 X the current price.

If anybody ever really manages to stem that tide you will be on your knees begging for them to come back in 3 months.
