I attempted a few scoops this afternoon and came up empty handed.

Last was someone I wasn't sure was an SW again, as she was hanging out on the steps at 20th and G. I first thought she was waiting for a ride the first time I passed. The service time we locked eyes and she motioned to turn, but I think of that like a waver and kept going.

So this afternoon picked up this some what cute WSW named kay. She looked so young. Said she was 19 and has only been on the streets a week. Said she does not do drugs. Picked up on 8th and g was walking with a white guy. She hopped in quick and said the guy was her bf. And the 1st thing after low check was I only give bjs. It was that time of month for her. I was fine with that. She had a cute face but had a little acne. So you but when to work. Asked for 3 and adiivsed only had 2. She was ok with that. Spotted Amber for the first time in a few months. Last reported on her in June. The intervening months have not been kind. I'm sure the bulky winter coat didn't help but it appears she's put on quite a bit of weight. The pretty, attractive face is worn, weary and rounder, kind of lumpy. I didn't even recognize her at first. Drove by without slowing down. The streets and the habit are always mean, but she went from an 8 to about a 4 in about 4 months.

When I see an arm waver my first thought isn't decoy (although it's certainly possible). I just can't pick up someone who is drawing that much attention to the situation. AlterEgo made a huge point: the neighbors are vigilant.

I reported on Philly once or twice this summer, the first time I scooped was after I went to the Brewers game on Fathers Day in 95-degree heat. Anyway, I had a playdate with SW Jessy but she bailed so I thought I'd check Lincoln before heading home. Heading south I saw Philly off of Becher. She recognized my vehicle and jogged over. What I find unique about Philly is there seems to be a genuine shyness about her, yet she is really cooperative. She really won't speak unless spoken to but makes nice conversation when engaged. She did. Like I said, she was a recovered addict. She never did heroin or crack, but she did do coke (or raw as they call it on the streets.) She was actually a provider that I genuinely liked hanging out with. After our initial first encounters, money never really exchanged hands after I started tutoring her. She honestly didn't need the tutoring as much as she thought as she did very well on the test. She took classes at the local community college and I helped her out with the math / algebra classes. Around 9-10 am I saw a woman waving on 7 and g, I'm use to the looking and pick up but the waving thing got me suspicious, and I am wondering if I should be concerned that it could have been a trap?
