Bingo. Wouldn't have been a message from Jasmine, but Google attempting to rule the world with a God-amount of data on any and everything. So, scary but awfully nefarious.

If she is a Google user, she may have been signed up through Google Maps as a Local Guide. They use location awareness to see where you go, and then ask you questions about places you have been to update their information about local establishments ("Does Jimmy's Bar serve food?" "Is this a good place to bring kids? Etc). Usually these requests show up as notifications, but maybe they do texts also?

It uses GPS, so if there is any other business in the area you can tell it "I was at X, not why". The strip club I visit occasionally is right next to a bar and grill, so the first time it asked me, I said I was at the pub. Now whenever I go to the strip club it marks me as going to the pub.

Thanks for the info, KC Questor. I understand how it works and it's usefulness, but this is the first time I'm aware of that she got any kind of notification about a business. So am not sure why this particular location triggered it.

What was a surprise was that my wife had left her phone in the car. That night, she got a request (via text?) asking about her visit to Jasmine Spa. Woooo! There are lots of things we can't explain on the phone, so she didn't question it. But I was really caught off guard.

Stopped in earlier this week. I had to wait 10 minutes in a downstairs room before being led up to my masseuse. Nothing new to report. Price and service as expected and reported before.

What was a surprise was that my wife had left her phone in the car. That night, she got a request (via text?) asking about her visit to Jasmine Spa. Woooo! There are lots of things we can't explain on the phone, so she didn't question it. But I was really caught off guard.

I'll be more careful from now on!

Good public service announcement. This is why I always make sure I power down all electronic devices. Too many apps trying to map out your life. Several years ago, accidentally, left a phone on while making a visit. Imagine my surprise when the next week, my hostess, with her real life identity, showed up as a recommended friend on a Facebook page. Can only surmise our phones were too close together at same location. Be careful out there.

Interesting to note. I've stopped by there several times after work. Always had good service and a great massage. Young nice looking masseuses, but unfortunately no extras. I always felt it was worth the price just for 90 minutes of relaxation. Never had any similar experiences, but always had cash.

"Fair warning while doing business at Sunshine Massage in Lamplighter Square. They just hijacked me for cash after receiving an relaxing message. Upon arrival I asked if I could pay with a debit card and I was told yes. After the message it appeared that they ran my debit card 3 times but kept cancelling the transaction trying to tell me in a foreign language that I had no money on my card. Considering I just used my card at 2 other locations prior to my arrival, I knew they were wrong. So I called my bank trying to be considerate of them. My bank informed me that there were no transactions that they ran through. After 3 calls to their 'boss' they kept running me around and asking for cash. They wanted to follow me to my ATM after taking a picture of my license to go get them cash. I was not going to my ATM machine with them in tow. I had to call a friend to bring me some cash. After a 1 hour ordeal and Sunshine not following through with what the 'boss' told me on the phone, Nick arrived and handed them cash. Their whole demeanor changed. Angry scowls became happy smiles and she reached into her purse to pull out a wad of cash like I have never seen before. It dawned on me that they don't want credit or debit cards because with cash they don't have to report their income and they can short the county by not paying their fair share of income taxes. I normally promote supporting our local businesses, but in this case, I will never step foot in their establishment again. I was more stressed out after receiving my message then before I went in. ".

Wow! I have thought myself to be a little paranoid as I always use call blocker when phoning an AMP to make an appointment.

Or my burner phone when I have minutes on it. Guess I will continue doing this as to avoid this type of call back. I also always pay in cash to avoid any tie in.
