I'm very fortunate to not have an issue with regard to ethnicity preferences providers have. The only time I've seen an exception is when another monger in very good standing with the provider vouches for another. This may be your only play. I definitely recommend this approach.

That being said, you should do your best to contribute to the forum, gain credibility, and befriend those in good standing to give yourself the best shot possible. Meetup for a drink, etc. No harm in trying. Best of luck.
