I think the way to counter the endemic flakiness in our hobby is review sites. This one isn't bad, but it's not organized like a proper review / ad site. In the Northwest, TNA is really good, and after a few alerts, a flaky provider is well outed and you know what you're getting. TNA has a Washington DC section but it's pretty dead. Check out Portland OR or Seattle to see what I'm talking about.

Since you can't escape it, the best you can do is minimize it. Posting Intel reports like yours is a good start. It also helps to always have a Plan B (and maybe C or D) in case your primary leaves you hanging.
