Every year it is like that. I hate seeing the rates jump for just 2/3 days. Your best bet is checking usually after 4 am. They should start releasing any no shows between 4 - 6 am if they had any. My shift was in the 500+ range but didn't have any. Usually I will just tell them all I got is a couch or sit by pool until 5 am.

When I used to go to Disney resorts with my wife and daughter I'd often pick up a six pack and go out to the pool and sleep there. I snore and I found that the pool chairs were more enjoyable than getting elbowed every 15 minutes. No one ever gave me an issue for being out there. I had a room key if anyone wanted to make sure that I was a guest, but no one ever checked. I'd do that in a second before I'd pay those rates for shit hotels.

The ones I remember were Omni, Gaylord Palms and Hilton Bonnet Creek.
