I have a galaxy phone which comes with a secure folder feature. It allows to create a physical partition on your phone, it's like having a second phone and you can have a set of alternate apps in that partition. I've been using it for a year now and I think it's the best feature on my phone. I have Google voice (with a fake account), kik, snapchat and other apps with an alternate identity, it's virtually untraceable. It doesn't get sent to the cloud and everything in there is encrypted and can be deleted in one second.

I'm sure its been mentioned, but if you don't know about Google Voice, check into it. Google gives you a free number that you can send and receive calls and texts. You can check messages and texts via any web browser. You can have calls forwarded to any number you choose. You can also download and app to your Android phone (not sure about apple) that allows you to make calls and texts via Google Voice with that number, hiding your cell number. There are lots of cool features, and it works great.
