There's an app approriately called BURNER. It has some good features. First, there's an optional pass code required to get into the app. There's a do not disturb option so alerts remain silent until you manually check the phone. There are several other good features, but the best is perhaps that you can uninstall it from your phone, and reinstall it whenever you want and it's as if it was on your phone the whole time. No need to log back in and wonder what your log on name and password were. The bad points are you pay for it via your cell account so whomever pays the bill may see it (1 time). Even when the pass code feature is engaged, if the do not disturb feature is off, the 5 second alert does briefly flash the content of the alert (text, call, picture, etc.).

Overall a great app.
