What you described is pretty much how Simple Pho is set up. Many of the foot massage places here have the public area only feet away (I made a funny!) from the curtained body massage rooms where all the fun happens. The first few times I was very intimidated and was sure that everyone could hear me. Now I just don't care who hears or who doesn't.

If that type of environment is uncomfortable for you then I'd recommend trying regular massage & acupuncture places that only offer private rooms, either with a real door or at least a long curtain. And in many of those places the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling so there is a foot or more gap than transmits sounds beautifully. Just so ya know.

You've got nothing to worry about. On my first visit after confirming that I had never been there before, the provider made a halfhearted effort to reach for a cover before I waved her off.
