Sometimes it's hard to compare one chain hotel to another, but the practices of one to another under the same corporate umbrella are often the same. I ran operations, including a 24-hour security team, at a large beach resort on the Tampa Bay side t of the state before I retired and moved off-shore three years ago. Hoteliers and their management staff, at least we did in the security department, were aware that policy and procedures being implemented there would have certainly been corporate directed. Watching who's in a room, especially unregistereed guests, camera installation, and foot patrols is / was a part of the agreement to eliminate bad press. Personally, the place is a dump and I would stay at another place.

Consider this next IC visit when your partner meets you at the side door after security has locked it down for the night. Most cameras are installed at entry and egress points and usually are motion detected. Smile each time you come thru one of those doors into an interior hallway after lock-down. That's probably the only time the camera records. And if the only person seen two nights running on the limited recorded camera footage is the same girl opening the outside door as she looks up and down the hall for an all-clear. Well, you get the message.
