You can either download an app after logging in, or use their website to generate the number. I use this if I ever sign up for anything I'm worried may be a pain to cancel. If the merchant tries to charge a second time, it's denied. I'm not sure if other card companies have a similar feature, but might be worth looking into.

I've had good luck with privacy.com so far. You can generate burner cards and fund it via ACH. The site is free. They make money via a cut of the credit card processing fee on the merchant side.

Just a warning to all of you out there. These sites will rob you blind if you let them. I have found my credit card charged large amounts months after I have cancelled their service (because in general these services suck and most people move on after a month of wasting their money). I tried Seeking Arrangements several months ago and was given a "3-day" trial and after 3 days, I was supposed to be charged $39.95/ month unless I cancel. I figured I would try it out. I went to 3 screens that told me my card would not be charged until after the 3 day trial ended. My card was immediately charged $9. 99. I thought they would refund the money when I cancelled after the trial, so I didn't complain. The next day my card was charged 6 times for $39.95. I contacted customer support and got no response. I then contacted my credit card company and said it was fraud and had my card cancelled and reissued. 3 months later, Seeking Arrangements still has never responded to my dozen e-mails about the charges.

Seriously, I have tried at least one of these hook up sites every year and EVERY ONE of them has tried to charge me more than they stated. Several have waited until six months after I canceled and then started charging me again. This one was the worst and most blatant. Be careful and use a credit (not a debit) card.

I just use a prepaid card. They can't charge me if it doesn't have a balance.
